LG.  Can you tell us a little bit about yourself? (Age, location, how did you get started)

KL.  I am 25 years old, based out of Kalamazoo, MI/Chicago, IL. I got started in modeling when I lived in Los Angeles, CA and I was interested in fashion, so I went to school for fashion design and over time I started to network with different people and found some amazing photographers from all over the country. My first photographer was so good to me that he was able to send me reliable sources even when I moved to Michigan.

LG.  Five years from now, where do you see yourself?

KL.  Five years from now I am hoping to have a bigger modeling career such as walking down runways, being featured in magazines, billboards, etc. I am also hoping that I am able to start working at a major fashion magazine and using my fashion degree or right now I am going to school for interior design so hopefully I am able to pursue in either of those fields of work.

LG.  What Type of Model would you be considered?

KL.  Since I am into art and fashion I personally think I would be considered an art, glamour, and fashion model since I'm always looking for new styles to try out and taking risks in my career. 

LG.  What was your first Job?

KL.  My first job was a casting call at Somerset Mall in Troy, MI for Ford Modeling Company. They were looking for different potential models and I decided to take my portfolio and try to get the job and after three days I was excited to finally hear back that I got the job with doing a photo shoot for them! 

LG.  How do you deal with disappointment?

KL.  When I am disappointed I most of the time like to step back and see what I did wrong, once I realize that, I just think to myself not to do it again! I also like to just take a break for a few days and do some retail therapy or hang out with my friends who always cheer me up!

LG.  Talk about your strength and weakness in Modeling?

KL.  My strength in modeling is my smile and my body language. I also have a strength with picking out good styles to shoot! My main weaknesses are my facial expressions and sometimes its always hard to be serious! I'm a very outgoing person and I am always cracking up laughing at times when I need to be serious!

LG.  What is a big pet peeve of yours from the industry?

KL.  My biggest pet peeve is everyone has an image in their head of a "perfect" model, so when people do not fill that image they are just turned away. I hate being judged off of a stereotype, I am a person that always speaks my mind and it drives me nuts when companies always put everyone in the same stereotype.  

LG.  What’s the secret of you always looking glamorous?

KL.  My secret is mud facials, massages, and plenty of sleep! I get stressed very fast so sometimes its nice to take a day to yourself at a spa! And always get beauty sleep otherwise you are never awake enough to get ready and look your best!

LG.  Can you tell us some of the challenges that you have come across?

KL.  Challenges I have came across are; individual's negative attitudes about models and modeling, the critiques that companies write that are low blows, and the feeling of always being under pressure.

LG.  What are some of your greatest achievements thus far?

KL.  My greatest achievements so far are; being able to model in Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, taking a part of Fashion's Night Out 2011 in NYC, walking the runway in Fashion Rocks (Fall) for CBS, and being in catalogues for name brand stores.

LG.  What is your ultimate goal for your career?

KL.  My ultimate goal is someday I would love to be a Victoria's Secret Angel and I would love to be able to walk in multiple fashion week shows for popular fashion designers!

LG.  What was the craziest experience that you’ve had in the industry? (story)

KL.  The craziest experience I had in the industry was when I was modeling for Fashion's Night Out just a few days ago and it felt so good when someone came up to me and asked me if I was in Fashion Week before. It felt amazing that someone recognized my face out of dozens of other girls! I felt excited that someone had been paying attention to even the small town models that are in shows.

LG.  Question, all the guys want to know… Are you single?

KL.  LOL, yes I am currently single.

LG.  What attracts you about a guy?

KL.  When it comes to physical looks, I absolutely love a guys smile! I think it is the cutest thing on a guy! But when it comes to anything else I most look at personality! I have to be able to laugh and have a good time and not clash with the guy!

LG.  Can you name a model everyone should look out for, other than you?

KL.  I think Gisele Bundchen is an amazing model! She is so gorgeous, beautiful, and has the most amazing body ever!

LG.  Tips for men who want to be your Mr. Right?

KL.  My Mr. Right is someone who can make me laugh, instead of going out staying in with me and cuddling up and watching a movie, someone who will not mind going shopping with me and holding my dozens of shopping bags, and a guy whole is loyal and faithful!

LG.  What advice do you have for young women, trying to get in the industry?

KL.  Advice I have is do not let anyone ever bring you down. No matter what the company or people say, you can do whatever you want as long as you put your mind to it! And like Coco Chanel always said "A girl should always be two things; classy and fabulous."
