FRESH OUT OF THE GATE: The post graduate

This is my first time blogging so I guess I should introduce myself. In certain circles, I am known as brickhouse. This name was given to me for reasons I won't go into, but depending on your angle you maybe able to come to your own conclusion (lol). I am a first year graduate student, working through my second semester of what I believed was going to be a very difficult matriculation; to my suprise graduate studies haven't proven to be as difficult as I anticipated. Needless to say Im a little disappointed, but the slacker in me is jumping for joy. Im not pushing myself any harder that I was in undergrad. I know that sounds bad, but Im a writer by gift and choice. Im studying literature, specifically African American Literature and I love it. Graduate school hasn't surpassed my independent studies *cue music of gloom and doom* I fell in love with Langston Hughes in middle school so you can see my disappointement when my graduate professors assign his work and expect to get" new and innovative views" on it. Enough about that aspect of life. I'll let you in on other things I will talk about in this blog. SInce graduating, I have moved back home to Atlanta. Im living with my family which is mixed to say the least. One word: Frustrating! I love my family, but living with them SMH, I dont know how much more I can take. Im 23 years old, I would love to date, hang out with friends, live the single life in the city, but there is no way I can do that living here, because the line between being a respectful daughter and a disrespectful daughter is just as thin as the one between love and hate...yall dont hear me! Hopefully my blog will pick up readers as I continue to free my mind through words. Feel free to comment, ask questions, or whatever. Im more than willing to interact....peace, grace and mercy to you all

Let's look at this, You have life, health , and strength, so your are already Blessed in your own right.
Next, let's look at family, Now we all have that crazy ass COUSIN,AUNT or Family member, but just love them with the same love you have for yourself, and god will do the rest.

Now YOU... You have done something some people have not, and That's find SELF PRESERVATION, School is the single most hard thing to do, not only that, GRADUATE SCHOOL, My respect for you is at HIGH level already...

Now I am going to mix the first and the second Blog,,,

The Track Star you are,,, Sometimes we run our own race, and that's only because sometimes we are meant to be alone to get through our goals and stay FOCUSED,, So if you are the only one on the track sometimes is only because THE track belongs TO YOU...

Stay focused and stay blessed, and most of all STAY TRUE TO YOUR GOALS.... And they won't let you down.....

Congratulations, on your academic achievements.

When I left my parents house at the age of 19, I was at a boiling point. I wasn't talking to that one or this one. It was time to go, ready or not. Relationships improve tremendously since then.

Get your plan together. Looking forward to reading more.
