The Avenue, Where Models Lives
Ashlee Elizabeth

Smart is so Sexy #SISS
LG. Can you tell us a little bit about yourself? (Age, location, how did you get started)
Ashlee. Well, my name is Ashlee Elizabeth and I am 21 going on 22 on February the 3rd. I'm from the beautiful bay area, a small town called Petaluma, which is right outside of San Francisco. I'm mixed ethnicities -- African - American, Italian, & Brazilian, which is why my look can be so versatile. I got my start in modeling by initially being on the other side of the camera as a make up artist and hair stylist. I went to Paul Mitchell in San Francisco where I excelled in the beauty industry. I am currently an artist with MAC cosmetics and starting a long lasting career with the company.
LG. What's your favorite song right now?
Ashlee. That's a tough question because honestly I am such a music lover. But if I had to choose a song I would say that 'sure thing' by Miguel or 'Lovin the Crew' by Drake takes the cake.
LG. What Type of Model would you be considered?
Ashlee. That's a really great question. I would like to think of myself as more of a print model, but I definitely dabble in other types of modeling from urban to higher fashion. I just love trying new artistic things when I'm shooting!
LG. What was your first Job?
Ashlee. To be quite honest my first job was at In-N-Out burger when I was 16 years old. I worked there for 3 years and back then in high school that was the job to have. Everyone would go there on the weekends after the parties or the football games and it would be crazy busy with lines out the door. But I worked with all my friends and was getting paid pretty well for being so young. Definitely one of my favorite jobs haha.
LG. How do you deal with disappointment?
Ashlee. Man being disappointed is honestly one of the worst feelings in the world. But I also know that nothing is perfect and that everything happens for a reason. I've just learned to not sweat the things that you cannot control and maintain what you can. There is always a way to fix what’s broken.
LG. Talk about your strength and weakness in Modeling?
Ashlee. I would say that a strength of mine is having a tough skin and being able to take criticism and use it to my advantage. Not everyone is going to like you and the ones that do and support you are going to help you grow and make it to the top. However, my weakness for me is definitely my height. I'm not very tall, I stand at 5'4 so I have to work that much harder to make sure my body looks right and that I'm accentuating what I do have.
LG. What is a big pet peeve of yours from the industry?
Ashlee. A pet peeve of mine is the image that some seem to have of models. Not every model is a "hoe" or doing anything to get published. There is a lot more to a model then just beautiful bodies and pretty faces, aside from all that we're regular woman grinding for success.
LG. What’s the secret of you always looking glamorous?
Ashlee. I am a huge skin care junkie! Having gone to beauty school and being a
make up artist, I am very aware of what my skins needs and can handle! I love my Clarisonic face brush as well!! Using appropriate skin products is important especially as we get older and our bodies change.
LG. Can you tell us some of the challenges that you have come across?
Ashlee. The biggest challenges I have faced in this industry is just knowing the real from the fake. You really cannot trust everyone and you gotta play it smart and do what’s best for you regardless of what anyone says. If you can live with your choices at the end of the day then that is all that matters.
LG. What are some of your greatest achievements thus far?
Ashlee. Being versatile in the industry has definitely worked in my favor since I am able to not only model but also do all types of make up for things. Within a few months of taking modeling seriously and really pursuing it, I was featured in my first magazine. Also, I have been able to do make up for up and coming artist like Andy Rox and Commercials for American Express. I really love what I do!!
LG. What is your ultimate goal for your career?
Ashlee. My ultimate career goal is to definitely take modeling
as far as it can go. I plan on saying yes to every positive opportunity that comes my way. Also, I definitely plan on working my way up with MAC and progressing in my artistry. I can’t wait for the day where I'm doing events like fashion week or big screen movies.
LG. What was the craziest experience that you’ve had in the industry? (story)
Ashlee. The craziest experience I've had is probably the first time I saw some of my published work in person. I was in San Francisco and then I happened to see my face on an add in a window! That same picture was surfacing all the way in NYC and became the cover of a book as well!
LG. Question, all the guys want to know… Are you single?
Ashlee. And I'm single, tonight I'm single lol *Lil Wayne Voice* Yes, I am definitely a single lady looking for my prince charming. Well I take that back, I'm never looking but always willing. I don't mind being single, but I'm more of a relationship type of girl. I've just yet to find that guy for me.
LG. What attracts you about a guy?
Ashlee. Well for starters I'm a sucker for a beautiful smile
and beautiful eyes. But I love a man that’s educated and goal oriented. Being able to make me laugh and just be my friend first is really important to me. I'm really attracted to guys that are not directly involved in the industry and just live regular lives.
LG. Can you name a model everyone should look out for, other than you?
Ashlee. My girl Shayla Jamerson is a beautiful model and jewelry designer. She's part of Head Bangerz, which is an up and coming jewelry line based out of the Bay Area.
LG. Tips for men who want to be your Mr. Right?
Ashlee. Honestly, if you'd like to be my guy then all I ever ask for is honesty and some of your time. I'm not the type to ever change your hustle; I just ask that I'm apart of it. Remember the small things and make me laugh; be my best friend.
LG. Twitter or Facebook? Which do you prefer?
Ashlee. Twitter most definitely. Facebook I keep more private for friends and family.
LG. Where can our audience see more of you?
Ashlee. You can always find me saying what's on my mind on Twitter: @miss_mulatto or visit my blog at: ashleegregori.blogspot.com
LG. What advice do you have for young women, trying to get in the industry?
Ashlee. My advice is to stay true to yourself and be willing to take constructive criticism. You are beautiful and you don’t need a photo to tell you that.
